66 WNA TELLING THE GODDAMN PATROL: BACK NOT HEAVEN FOR LAW-BREAKERS!

DENPASAR — Word Warta global.Id. Bali's tourist glitz is again tinged with a serious note about the behavior of some foreigners. In a week-long operation, the Regional Office of the Directorate General for Immigration in Bali nabbed 66 Foreign Nationals (WNA) from 27 countries who were indicated to be committing immigration offences.

The crackdown was the result of Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol being set up in the working area of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Denpasar, Singaraja, Klungkung and Tabanan.

66 is not just a statistic.

Underneath the numbers are issues of concern: residency abuse, overstay, to safety and public order.

24 WNA HAS BEEN SUSPECTED OF USING A RESIDENCE PERMIT

From the results of operations, violations were dominated by 24 WNAs indicated to be abusing residence permits.

In addition, 20 WNAs were indicated to be overstaying their residency permit, while 22 WNAs are netted for being indicated as disturbing public order and security.

This data is a reminder that Bali's openness to tourists and foreigners should not be translated as freedom to ignore the rules.

Bali is open to the world, but the law remains its limit.

GOD'S DHARMA IS NOT JUST PATROL.

The Dewata Dharma Patrol Task Force doesn't just move when a breach has already occurred.

Rapid response or quick response is also done to detect various potential disturbances of public order as well as narrowing the scope for strangers who may be in violation.

Officers are also taking advantage of the integrated digital data system to perform document validation more quickly and efficiently.

Surveillance is taking aim at business people and innkeepers. They are educated on the obligation to report the presence of a stranger through the Alien Reporting Application (APOA).

This step is important because WNA oversight cannot be relied solely on officers.
